About this Chart
Application Fees generally tracks the total amount users pay to interact with an application. This metric includes supply-side values that do not accrue to the application, such as Uniswap trading fees that accrue to liquidity providers, marking a key difference from Application Revenue.
Application Fees by Chain can serve as a proxy for the activity generated by the application layer of a chain. Note, this metric is unfiltered, so it also includes value generated by the business operations of the application. For example, fees for liquid staking protocols will include the staking yield generated on AUM, which is not a proxy for the amount of activity generated by an application.
Data is sourced from Defillama and excludes Circle and Tether.
